With the declaration published in the official gazette by the Ministry of Energy, thermal power plants with an installed capacity of 20 MWe and above are obliged to have an energy survey carried out by March 2023.

The following provisions have been introduced within the scope of the amendments made.

Article 27 (2) : “the board is primarily the power of 20 MW thermal power plants and the use of waste heat for heating and cooling purposes in buildings as well as industrial, agricultural production, aquaculture, cold storage and fresh water production in sectors such as energy studies for the assessment shall be done or delegated to the company. The final study reports prepared are transmitted to the Ministry until the end of March of the year following the year in which the study was conducted.”

Article 28 (2) : ” 20 MWt and in need of major rehabilitation or who are undergoing thermal energy cogeneration systems for the implementation of new industrial feasibility studies are done, or shall be delegated to the company. The final feasibility study reports prepared are submitted to the Ministry by the end of March of the year following the year the study was conducted.”

They are required to submit their survey reports to the Department of Energy Efficiency and Environment until the end of March 2023.
